Ring Doorbell 2 Night Vision Not Working

I keep reading that there is a way to turn nightvision on and off in the app but there is no such setting in my ring app.

Ring doorbell 2 night vision not working. If i do a hard reset on my db2 the color at night works for 10 r so seconds then goes off back to night vision and will not work again. It is also possible that if there is a light above the device it is causing too much reflection on the right side stopping the camera from picking up any further with night vision. I covered the three infrared lights with black tape turned on the color night vision and the porch light and i get a good picture that way otherwise it s black and white and you cant see anything but shadows with the porch light on or off. I did not cover up the infrared sensors with tape.

Ring pro works fine for a couple of events and then stops working. It seems there is not enough light that even with the night vision the doorbell is unable to make out anything beyond your front door. But if night vision is the most important this may not be the best camera for you. Your ring pro requires a power source that supplies a minimum of 16 volts ac. They may not be as high tech as these amazon s advancements especially with the convenience of an app which you can use from anywhere. I think this started with the new update to the app. This makes absolutely no sense to me as there is a front yard light on a pole no more than about 5 yards from the doorbell. Not ringing your existing internal doorbell correctly.

My ring doorbell 720p works perfectly at night in color. When viewing the live view at night on a non battery powered ring device you ll find that your image is in black and white. All i have done is turned on the porch light during the night and turned on the color night vision in video settings. If the ring isn t working for you there are certainly other night vision camera s you can purchase.
