Hello i am hoping someone can help me with a problem i am having with my ring doorbell pro.
Ring doorbell pro voltage dropping. The flow of voltage is dependent on many things including but not limited to length of wire run gauge of wires existing chime kits transformer output rating resistance and even in app settings. Thankfully i have the chime pro since my existing doorbell is now bypassed. This article will tell you how to connect a ring doorbell directly to a low voltage 8 24v ac transformer. Some important facts for people planning on using this optional alternate configuration for their ring video doorbell.
If you can confirm suitable input voltage using a multi meter at the ring pro 16vac with the probes on the terminal screws then push for replacement because it s only going to get worse. The doorbell pro stayed on. Ring pro works fine for a couple of events and then stops working your ring pro requires a power source that supplies a minimum of 16 volts ac. The ring video doorbell can only be connected to an ac transformer. The voltage reading in device health corresponds to the level of charge.
I think using the bypass on the pro power kit v2 helped. I can only think that the resistor in series with the ring is to produce a voltage drop. I have to go out and reset it and then miraculously the voltage is back to over 4040 mv. Dc is not supported.
Next morning i check and no power to the doorbell. I m happy to report the doorbell hasn t missed a beat. If the voltage is below that number device functionality will be impaired. Recently installed by an electrican was setup and working fine around 9 at night door bell dies.
